Learn about short and long-term programs in Asia, Africa and the Middle East and why studying abroad in a non-traditional destination might be what you need to make your resume pop! Education Abroad staff will give an overview of the various opportunities that exist in the region and general information about scholarships, financial aid, and the application process.

Mar 1: BioTech Connect, 5-7:30pm, LSC Ballrooms C&D

BioTech Connect: Changing Lives Through Science brings together industry professionals from the Colorado Biotech, Bioscience, and Life Sciences industries with students, alumni, and faculty at CSU to network, learn, and discuss career paths and opportunities. This year's program will feature "TedX-style" presentations highlighting innovations in technology and an employer/student mixer.

Learn about volunteer opportunities abroad through the Peace Corps.

Mar 6: Colorado Center for Medical Laboratory Science (CCMLS) Information Presentation, 5pm, Microbiology A101: This meeting will provide an introduction to CCMLS as well as present information regarding the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) field. The CCMLS program is an eleven month post-bachelor degree program designed to prepare students to work in clinical laboratories around the nation and to be eligible to sit for the board of certification exam (a national requirement to work in clinical laboratories). Mar 29: CSU Career Center Health Sciences Industry Tour, 7am-5pm, meet in LSC 120 Career Center Classroom. The Industry tours are an incredible opportunity to network, learn about the organizations' cultures, participate in hands-on activities, and meet alumni in the field. To Register: first sign up for the even on Handshake, then sign up at the Career Center front desk with a $20 deposit (cash or check) with will be returned to you on the morning of the tour. These tours are typically very popular and fill up FAST. Since we can only take 32 students on each tour we encourage you to reserve your spot ASAP at the Career Center front desk with your deposit.

Program Opportunities:

Undergraduate Pre-Health Program: Participants will engage in a 13-month program that exposes students to professional and career exploration. Topics include health care equity/disparities within various communities, career development workshops, and educational development workshops. Sessions are led by distinguished University of Colorado faculty, staff, and students, as well as Kaiser Permanente physicians and staff. Sessions will consist of lectures and demonstrations. The deadline to apply is May 10th. More information here.

Functional “Hands” on Splinting Workshop: Learn how to use splinting to increase function, complete five basic splints, acquire the feel for different thermoplastics, review landmarks, biomechanics, splinting techniques and precautions for common injuries. The workshop will be held Saturday, April 7th from 8am-4pm in the CSU Occupational Therapy Building. Fee for the course is $150 ($50 non-refundable deposit) and includes all splinting material and course binder. To register, email Deborah.Krogh-Michna@colostate.edu and make deposit by March 31st.
