If you decide to take some time between your undergraduate and professional coursework, we recommend considering some of the following opportunities. Please note that this is not a comprehensive list, but a place to get started.

Many of our students choose to work in one of the following roles in a clinical setting:

  1. Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)
  2. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  3. Phlebotomist
  4. Physical/Occupational Therapy Aide or Technician
  5. Medical Assistant
  6. Medical Scribe
  7. Veterinary Technician
  8. Various additional technician positions

Academic Programs

Medically related Post-Baccalaureate (Post-Bacc) and short Master’s programs are intended for academic enhancement or career changes. Most programs are 1-2 years long. Some students changing careers also attend a four-year institution, such as CSU, just to complete the prerequisites they would need to be eligible to apply to health professions programs.
